Lead-Zinc Ore dressing

Smelting process of lead-zinc ore: lead sulphide concentrate is the main mineral material for smelting lead. Its smelting method has two kinds: fire method and wet method.

Zinc sulphide concentrate is the main mineral material for smelting zinc. Its smelting method also has two kinds: fire method and wet method. The former adopts vertical retort, horizontal retort or electric furnace. Wet method for smelting zinc has developed very quickly in the past 20 years and has been the main method for smelting zinc. Crude zinc obtained from fire smelting zinc adopts distillation refining or direct application. Electrolytic zinc obtained from wet smelting zinc has high quality and doesn’t need to refine.

As for mixed concentrate of lead and zinc sulphide which is hard to separate, we often adopt closed blast furnace melting method producing lead and zinc at the same time to treat.

There are rich accompanying components in the lead and zinc concentrate of our country, and they have been recycled comprehensively in the process of melting and have considerable economic benefit.

Comprehensive recovery products have copper, sulfur, zinc, gold, silver, platinum family metal, bismuth, thallium, cadmium, selenium and tellurium and so on when melting zinc and lead.

Lead-zinc mineral beneficiation plant is generally limited to size fractions between roughly 65 and 400 mesh. Particles larger than 65 mesh Tyler (210 micron) are difficult for the air bubble to lift while particles smaller than 400 mesh (37 micron) often will not attach to the air bubble.

Lead-zinc ore, is the ore content of high lead and zinc metallic element. Both of lead and zinc are widely used in many areas, such as electrical industry , machinery industry, military industry, metallurgy industry, chemical industry, light industry,etc. Besides, the lead has great purposes in the nuclear industry, metal oil industry, and other field.

    Here are the different methods, according to the different ore types:
  • 1. Flotation separation;
  • 2. Combined beneficiation method that contains gravity concentration and flotation;
  • 3. Flotation after roasting and vulcanizing;
  • 4. Gravity concentration then using vitriol treatment, then flotation.
